Writer, baker, designer, gardener, entrepreneur-er…

Hi, I’m Rosie. Pigeonhole is a newsletter for those of us who refuse to be easily-defined.

From recipes for delicious midweek meals and where to find the best chocolate-covered orange peel in Paris to how to grow sweet peas from seed or navigate the publishing world…let’s talk about it all.

As a published interior designer, professional baker, bestselling cookbook author, entrepreneur, avid traveller, gardener, and chicken-wrangler, I have so much to share!

Some Things About Me, Rosie

  1. I am the author of three best-selling cookbooks, with my next one coming Spring 2024. My third cookbook, Let Me Feed You, won gold for best cookbook in the 2020 Taste Canada Awards.

  2. I am the founder of Butter Baked Goods. A nostalgic neighbourhood bakery which I created and ran for 14 years and successfully sold in 2021.

  3. My line of gourmet marshmallows was carried by over 300 of the finest retailers across North America and Japan

  4. Prior to opening my bakery, I was an Interior Designer, with my work being featured regularly in many national and international publications.

  5. I created a cookie so delicious that it was shortlisted for Oprah's Favourite Things. That same cookie also got me a cease and desist letter from Mr. Christie

  6. I love to travel, but will always love the English countryside best.

  7. During the pandemic, I turned a neglected area at the side of my house into a thriving vegetable and flower garden. This experience inspired my upcoming book, The Side Gardener.

  8. I am allergic to garlic, so you might notice it missing from most of my recipes.

  9. I live in Vancouver, Canada with my husband, Paul, and our tiny old rescue dog, Pickle.

  10. I own three lovely chickens, Olive, Cocoa and Regina…or maybe they own me.
